Its first day time again. So far my classes don't suck that bad. I am in Gordy Wax's logic class, which is awesome just because he is teaching it. I also forked money out the ass for my textbooks just 10 minutes ago.
What I really want to do is complain about the computer science instructor at the school; Tim Wrenn. I almost didn't take CSCI 1107 just because he is teaching it, but I figure it would be an easy A for me and it is required for both my transfer plans and my career goals.
But... the class is for nerds! And its filled with nerds! And the teacher is a nerd! I am not saying I am not a bit nerdy at heart, but it starts eating away at me when sitting in on a lecturesounds like a SNL sketch
that the audiance should be laughing at. The class instead should be taught while everybody is drinking a beer or 2 so they can relax while learning the class.
Actual conversation in class (I took notes on what he said so I could write this):
Instructor (Tim): And guess what happens when you pass by value? (says some story) and the kid was passing the database by value which resulted in RUNTIME FAULTS! Heh heh!
(Class chuckles a bit)
Tim: And then what happens?
Nerd I hated from my last term trig class in back: Memory protection error?
Tim: The function goes onto the stack and caused a what? (pause) a what? (some Ben Stein in Ferris Bewler action going on here)
Tim: HEAP DUMP! Man! (chuckle)
Me: *sips more monster energy drink*
Tim: (after a few minutes) And how does cout work? It inherits it from iostream which inherits from STDIO.H which inherits from IOS WHICH INHERITS FROM IOS WHICH INHERITS FROM THE BIOS!
(I could swear he was sweating at this point)
(Class sits idly in awe)
Yea, he gets worked up easily.
Alright, I realize that I really didn't make a good argument. I just feel like complaining because I didn't want to take the class anyway. :)
How is everybody elses classes going?
